If you follow the ATV industry you may have read in our sister publication, All-Terrain Vehicle magazine, the announcement of Arctic Cat’s launch into the engine manufacturing business.
At this writing AC is building its first 650cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder engine in an all-new plant located in Thief River Falls.
While this likely will have no immediate effect on the current Suzuki based snowmobile engine program, we’re watching carefully to see how this dramatic move might impact Arctic Cat snowmobiles in the future.
Obviously, the first priority is to develop and manufacture 4-stroke ATV powerplants. However, it can’t be a big stretch to build a 4-stroke snowmobile engine… can it?
