Press Release –

Polaris snocross racers crowded the podium in Pro Open and two former Pro champions rebounded impressively from injuries at the ISOC Racing AMSOIL Duluth National held Dec. 11-13 in Duluth, Minnesota.

Polaris racers finished 2-3-4 in Pro Open, led by second-place finisher Ross Martin (Judnick Motorsports) who missed the second half of last season with a severely injured hip. Martin showed he is back in top form on his Polaris IQ Race Sled as he was the runner-up in Pro Open at Duluth and finished fifth in Pro Super Stock.

In Pro Women Super Stock at Duluth, Kylie Abrahamson won both heats and the final to dominate the class almost one year to the day after suffering a season-ending broken wrist. She got her 2009-2010 season off to a strong start with her sights set on reclaiming the Pro Women’s title she has won twice before.

Another Polaris racer who ran strong at Duluth was Mike Bauer (Judnick Motorsports), who won Semi-Pro Super Stock 1 and finished third in Semi-Pro Super Stock 2.

Polaris Grabs Two of Three Pro Open Podium Spots

Martin was joined on the Pro Open podium by Levi LaVallee (Team LaVallee), who finished third. Robbie Malinoski (Amsoil/Air Force/Makita) ran strong in his first race with a new team and finished fourth as Polaris racers took four of the top 10 places in Pro Open.

Matt Judnick (Judnick Motorsports) finished ninth, while Andrew Johnstad (AMSOIL, Air Force, Makita) was 14th and Brett Bender (Hentges Racing) was 18th.

In Pro Super Stock, Martin finished fifth, Bender was seventh and Judnick was ninth.

Healthy Abrahamson Wins Pro Women’s Class

Kylie Abrahamson of Merrifield, MN, demonstrated she has returned at full strength from last winter’s injury-shortened season. At Duluth, she won the first and second round heats and the final in Pro Women Super Stock. Jennifer Pare (JFP Racing) was second and Nikiya Adomaitis (Colorado Sledstyle) was fifth.

Justin Tate won the Pro Plus 30 Super Stock class and four Polaris racers finished in the top 10. Joining Tate in the top 10 were Michael Berghorn (Sierra Motorsports) in seventh, Derek Krause (Feathered Gold) in ninth and Craig Hultgren (Hultgren Racing) in 10th.

Mike Bauer (Judnick Motorsports) won Semi-Pro Super Stock 1, a class Polaris racers dominated as six of them finished in the top 10. Chris Kafka (Team LaVallee) joined Bauer on the podium by finishing third, and the other top-10 finishers were Colby Crapo (Leighton Motorsports) in fourth, Derek Ellis (Star Performance) in fifth, Andrew Lieders (Lieders Racing) in sixth and Kyle Strandlund (Strandlund Motorsports) in seventh.
