Snowmobile racing fans crowded inside the Silverdome in Pontiac, Mich., to watch as Ski-Doo X Team riders swept the Pro class wins at the ISOC Michigan National snocross February 10.
The confines of the Silverdome proved a far different environment than what the riders are used to – above freezing temps, humid air and a tight, rough track made for challenging racing.
Fifteen riders lined up for the 28-lap Pro Open race. X Team rider Justin Broberg got the holeshot and got out front off the start, but his Warnert Racing teammate Tim Tremblay quickly passed him and put distance between his Ski-Doo race sled and the rest of the field.
Tremblay laid down sub-20 second lap times, some of the fastest of the evening, and led the entire 28-laps on his way to taking the win. It was Tremblay’s second ISOC National win in the past three races and his third major snocross win after claiming the Snocross World Championship in Eagle River, Wis.
Ski-Doo riders finished 1-2-3 in the Pro Lite class, filling the podium on the floor of the Silverdome. Derek Ellis running for Boss Racing took the win marking his third podium finish of the season and his first win.
Ellis was backed up by Bauerly Racing teammates John Stenberg in second place and Chase Rosemeyer who finished third. Stenberg and Rosemeyer have been running strong in the Pro Lite class and the ISOC Michigan race marked the first podium visit of the season for both riders.
Jake Angove led a youth movement for Ski-Doo in the Sport class. Angove won the class and was backed up by six other Ski-Doo sleds in the Top 9 of the finishing order including Zak Mason who finished third.
