This month we’re off to the OEMs to see the 2006s and collect as much info as possible for our March Sneak Peek Issue.
We’re intrigued by the excitement coming from Yamaha. We suspect they’ve got more cool stuff, and you can be sure it’s 4- stroke powered.
Of course, we’re rarely without an opinion on matters of this magnitude so here’s what we think might be in the works.
A journeyman 4-stroke engine, possibly a twin, could appear in a Vector/RX-1 variant chassis to address the need for a lower priced 4-stroke alternative to the Venom 600.
We also think it possible we’ll see a more ditch oriented version of the Vector – possibly an “R” package using the RX-1’s cool, single shock skid and some tricked out dampers up front.
As well, we believe the RX-1 will receive updated geometry from the current Vector A-frame IFS for 2006.
